Who we are
Pharmacy Now is operated by LD Group Ltd at 11a/1 Stark Drive, Wigram, Christchurch 8042, New Zealand. This policy covers our website and pharmacy services. We are subject to the Privacy Act 2020 and, for health information, the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.
Information and purposes
Depending on the service you use, we collect contact and delivery details, account information, orders, payment status, correspondence and newsletter preferences. For pharmacy care, we may need prescription details and relevant information about your health, medicines and allergies. We use this information to provide care, fulfil orders, arrange delivery, communicate with you, manage payments and maintain required records.
We also receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details and website interactions to operate, protect and improve the website.
Where information comes from
We collect information directly from you where practicable. Relevant information may also come from your prescriber, another pharmacy, an authorised representative, a healthcare provider or a service provider where lawful. We will provide additional collection notices where required. If necessary information is not provided, we may be unable to supply an order or service; please ask us if you are unsure why information is requested.
Providers and disclosures
Our online store is hosted by Shopify, online payments are processed through Windcave, and website enquiries may be handled through Formester. Relevant information is handled by those providers and by delivery and technology providers to perform their roles. Payment details entered with a payment provider are handled under that provider’s privacy arrangements.
Where appropriate and lawful, health information may be shared with healthcare providers involved in your care, authorised representatives, funding bodies or other recipients permitted by law. Information may also be used or disclosed to meet legal obligations, address fraud or security issues, or respond to a serious threat as permitted by law.
Shopify, cookies and overseas processing
Shopify processes information about use of our store to provide and improve its services. Certain Shopify features may use interactions across merchants for personalisation or advertising, subject to applicable settings and privacy choices. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify Privacy Portal for details of Shopify’s processing and available choices.
Cookies and similar technologies support shopping sessions, security and website functionality. Depending on enabled services and your choices, they may also support analytics or personalisation. You can manage available choices through website privacy controls and your browser. Blocking cookies may affect some functions.
Technology providers may process or store information outside New Zealand. Overseas handling is subject to applicable New Zealand privacy requirements, including safeguards required for overseas disclosures. Contact us if you have questions about how information is handled by our providers.
Marketing and health information
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. This does not stop necessary order or care communications. Providing health information for pharmacy care is not, by itself, consent to use it for unrelated marketing.
Where we provide care for a child, relevant information is handled as health information. Access by a parent, guardian or representative is assessed under applicable law and the circumstances.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect information against unauthorised access, use, loss and disclosure. Please do not send payment-card details or unnecessary health information through a general enquiry. Ask our pharmacy team how to provide sensitive information appropriately.
Records are retained for necessary service purposes and applicable health-record, pharmacy, accounting and legal requirements. When no longer required, information is securely disposed of or de-identified as appropriate.
Your rights and concerns
You may request access to or correction of your information, subject to applicable law. We may need to verify identity and authority. If a requested correction is not made, you may ask for a statement of the correction sought to be attached to the information.
Contact info@pharmacynow.co.nz or 03 365 1564, or write to our address above, marked “Attention: Privacy Officer”. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
We will update this policy when relevant practices change. Publishing an update does not itself authorise a new use of information where separate authorisation is required.
